At PHTA, our government relations team works tirelessly to advocate for public safety and member interests, while opposing overly restrictive and unreasonable policies that could damage member businesses and economies. PHTA reviews over 1,000 pieces of regulation and legislation every year. Additionally, we have continued efforts to push for a universal International Swimming Pool & Spa Code for all 50 states. We are proud that the code has been adopted in 20 states and more than 170 localities so far.
Our members can connect to over 30 chapters across the country. Some of the industry’s most dedicated professionals come together to support one another and spur innovation in their communities. Many chapters also have an affiliate WAVE Young Professionals Network that serves as a launch pad for professionals under 40-years-old. Not only do members have access to joining chapters, leadership opportunities are also available through PHTA councils and committees.
We want to give you the tools you need to be successful in the industry. You’ll be given access to marketing tools highlighting your status as a PHTA member and can be used to promote your business and certifications. Every year PHTA recognizes prominent achievements and outstanding performers in the pool, spa and hot tub industry. Our awards program is extensive and is only open to active PHTA members. Education makes you a stronger professional, and at PHTA, our courses are the standard in the industry. Members enjoy discounted enrollment fees for certification classes and materials. In 2019, we’ve invested more than $1.4 million dollars and over 2,000 staff and volunteer hours in order to roll out new and improved online education and training manuals for all our certifications.
