PHTA Leads the Way in Delivering Education During Pandemic

(Alexandria, Va.) - The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) has been proactive over the last eight months on transitioning their top tier programs to a virtual format. PHTA is utilizing online learning best practices to develop high quality virtual education while also delivering the engagement and connection to colleagues that the industry is craving. In addition to the online CPO Course and certification exam which went online in April, the organization pivoted to offer a full virtual lineup of GENESIS schools throughout the fall.  These GENESIS virtual trainings give participants the opportunity to enhance their skills, learn from experts and ask critical questions—all from the comfort of their home or office.

“In the midst of a global pandemic, PHTA has been able to pivot to online education when everything else is shut down,” said PHTA President and CEO Sabeena Hickman, CAE. “We’ve been offering a variety of virtual GENESIS seminars, ranging from Elements of Design to Construction School for Concrete Pools to Color Theory and Its Application. We are proud to say these virtual seminars have been met with tremendous success.”

The virtual GENESIS courses have received rave reviews from participants. Scott Walk, who attended the virtual History of Pools and Water Features seminar said, “How easy it was to just jump on the computer versus a plane.”

Ryan Pieszchala with Quest Pools attended the same virtual course. “It was great,” he commented. “I felt it gave me a broader sense of architectural styles and methods to draw from for my future designs. Also, it was great to see a number of styles from multiple cultures.”

After attending the Elements of Design virtual course, Mike Bauer said, “Great course, great teacher, can't wait to take the next one!”

The next available GENESIS virtual seminar is Color Theory and Its Application, which runs December 1, 3, 7 and 9 from 6 - 10 pm Central Time. To sign up for this seminar or any other GENESIS virtual courses, visit https://www.phta.org/education-and-events/virtual-learning/virtual-schools/.
