The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), the trade association representing the swimming pool, hot tub, and spa industry, is pleased to announce that Pentair will once again serve as Program Sponsor for National Water Safety Month (NWSM) this May. Pentair, an industry-leading manufacturer of pool and spa solutions, will help reinforce the lifesaving message of the NWSM coalition and raise awareness of water safety best practices for families and aquatic facilities across the country.

National Water Safety Month is an annual awareness campaign coordinated by PHTA, the American Red Cross, the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA), the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), and the World Waterpark Association (WWA) with the purpose of highlighting the importance of water safety education and sharing best practices for both children and adults when they are in and around water.

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), the trade association representing the swimming pool, hot tub, and spa industry, announces the upcoming review and revision of ANSI/APSP/ICC-11 2019 American National Standard for Water Quality in Public Pools and Spas and calls for change request submissions. A review and update of information contained in the existing standard will be based on scientific research, verifiable data, and best practices for water quality.

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) Standards Consensus Committee (SCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of six new Voting Members. The SCC is PHTA’s official consensus voting body, responsible for reviewing and voting on all pool, spa, and hot tub standards to be approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Members of the SCC are classified into one of four interest categories: Producer, User-Government, User-Consumer, or General Interest.

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) is inviting public review and comments on revisions to the ANSI/APSP/ICC-5 2011 (R2022) American National Standard for Residential Inground Swimming Pools. The standard in development will be the PHTA/ICC-5 Standard for Residential Inground Swimming Pools. Public review is an important part of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards consensus development process.
