Step Into Swim, an initiative of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) dedicated to creating more swimmers through safe swim education, today announced strategic partnerships with key program supporters Master Pools Guild (MPG), Northeast Spa & Pool Association (NESPA) Foundation, and Periodic Products, Inc. The partners committed a total of $95,000, which will help Step Into Swim gift grants to learn-to-swim providers across the country and fund swim lessons for nearly 2,000 children while driving down the drowning rate.

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance has issued a call for participation on the Standards Consensus Committee (SCC), PHTA’s official consensus voting body. The SCC is responsible for reviewing and voting on all pool, spa, and hot tub standards to be approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) kicked off its 40th year as a standards developer by announcing the review and revision of ANSI/APSP/ICC-16 2017 American National Standard for Suction Outlet Fitting Assemblies (SOFA) for Use in Pools, Spas and Hot Tubs and ANSI/APSP/ICC-1 American National Standard for Public Swimming Pools and calling for subject matter expert (SME) participation in the Standard Writing Committees (SWCs). The APSP-1 Standard would be redesignated as the PHTA/ICC-1 Standard for Public Pool and Spa Design, Construction and Installation.

The 2022 International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo™, co-located with Deck Expo (PSP/Deck Expo) concluded its 65^th annual event. The excitement from the show floor was palpable with an over 40% increase in professionals in attendance from last year. The event, put on by Informa Markets, the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), and the North American Deck and Railing Association (NADRA®), was November 15-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. With over 10,000 registered professionals, the event connected notable and emergent brands with thousands of buyers, while providing ample networking opportunities and a full range of education led by renowned industry experts.
