This session is designed to help builders and inspectors learn and review significant changes made to the 2024 ISPSC recently released. This on-demand, self-paced program is a comprehensive, interactive course that explains the 2018 International Swimming Pool & Spa Code (ISPSC) concentrating on all aspects of pool and spa design and construction. This course is designed to help builders and inspectors understand the many changes to pool construction including calculations of total dynamic head (TDH), SOFAs, barriers, and additional construction requirements. The course addresses the code regarding quality, safety, energy, and conservation per the ANSI/PHTA approved standards.

The course meets the needs for all industry-related professionals including architects, engineers, building inspectors, building officials, contractors, plans examiner, plumbing inspectors, and pool and spa installers. This on-demand ISPSC training offers the 6-hour training broken into a set of 4 prerecorded sessions that are available for you to take as time permits, 24/7.

This course was developed by PHTA and ICC and satisfies the eligibility for specific jurisdictional requirements to qualify as a 3rd party inspector. The course carries 6 hours of PHTA CEUs and 0.6 IACET CEUs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review code definitions.
  • Examine ICC/PHTA/ANSI Standards within the code.
  • Examine entrapment; TDH; sanitation; disposal; storage.
  • Review heaters, pumps, filtration.
  • Identify hydraulic design and data requirements for permit approval.
