GENESIS® ANNOUNCES ROCKY WISLEY AS CONSTRUCTION FACULTY CHAIR
(Alexandria, Va.) – GENESIS®, a company of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), is pleased to announce its new Construction Faculty Chair, Rocky Wisley. Wisley is the owner and operator of Serenity Hardscapes LLC in Memphis, TN, which recently earned the American Shotcrete Association (ASA) Qualified Shotcrete Contractor – Wet-Mix, Level I designation.
Wisley earned his Certified Master Pool Builder & Design Professional (Master CBP) certification in July 2022 after completing the rigorous GENESIS® curriculum requirements and became a GENESIS® instructor shortly thereafter. As part of the team that leads C201: GENESIS® CONSTRUCTION SCHOOL: Concrete Pools, Wisley has already taught more than 300 pool professionals the fundamentals of concrete pool construction.
With more than 15 years in the industry, Wisley is a licensed Tennessee General Contractor, American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certified Nozzleman, and member of the National Plasterers Council (NPC), and earned an associate’s degree in Automotive Technology of Applied Science. Wisley founded Serenity Hardscapes LLC in 2010.
“I’m very excited to take on this expanded role with GENESIS®, an organization that cares about the industry and cares about the people going through its programs,” says Wisley. “I hope to instill in my students the value of quality-built pools and show them not only how things should be done, but that these construction principles can actually be applied to their work on a day-to-day basis.”
As the Construction Faculty Chair, Wisley will be responsible for writing the curriculum for new GENESIS® construction courses, updating existing content, and bringing real-life construction experiences to the classroom. He will work closely with Engineering Chair Terry Brannon, P.E. and Design Chair Kate Wiseman, MLA to ensure GENESIS® education makes future pool builders and the industry as a whole something they can all be proud of.
“We are so pleased to have one of our own Master CBPs and an ASA Qualified Shotcrete Contractor take on the role of GENESIS® Construction Chair,” says GENESIS® Co-Founder Skip Phillips, Master CBP. “His high level of expertise and passion for the industry means that he will fit in perfectly with our two existing faculty chairs. These three professionals are at the very top of our industry, and we are fortunate to have them all as part of the GENESIS® family.”
